2 weeks in.
I would love to say that it is completely easy now. But it isn't. I do have to say that it is easier than it was in the beginning.
I had a friend ask me how I am doing it. Being a mom and being on a diet like this isn't easy. You can't make the kiddos eat pure protein all day, and you KNOW that they can't live with their snack foods. So I thought I would post a few things that have helped me.
Gavin wanted a giant size hershey bar...I had to tell him no.
Only chips that we have in the house right now are in the small bags for their lunches.
I have jello pudding for their "treats" -no cookies, candy, etc. I keep sugar free jello gelatin in the fridge if I am tempted at all. If I were to buy them cookies it would have to be something that isn't my favorite. That would be like putting a bottle of vodka in the pantry of a recovering alcoholic. Not going to happen. Luckily enough the boys have been understanding (so far)
When they text me and ask if I will stop (fast food) and get them some food I just tell them no. =/ Then I try to make them something at home.
I keep frozen dinners (yuck) stocked for those moments that either we are going and going, or I am just not in the mood to cook a huge meal.
My easy meals are scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, or a roasted chicken from Kings.
Lean deli meat. ( a go-to essential for this diet )
Chant: "don't give up what you want most for what you want right now"
I did 30 min on the elliptical again today. I had to force myself today, because I was just not feeling it. BUT I did it. I know my body will thank me later.
